What is Carpet Dry Cleaning

Dry Carpet Cleaning by Magic Dry

Carpet dry cleaning is a safe, effective way to get your carpets clean without the hassles of using traditional steam methods. It involves the use of specialised machines and professional, high-quality products that have little to no moisture, to remove dirt, sand, oils, dead skin cells and more.

The Four Different Processes of Carpet Dry Cleaning

1. Dry Compound

A VLM (very low moisture) product is scrubbed into the carpet and absorbed. All the dirt and debris is then absorbed by this product and it is vacuumed away.

2. Encapsulation

This process involves polymers encapsulating or crystallizing soil particles into dry residues on contact and working like tiny sponges. The deep-cleaning compound crystals dissolve and absorb dirt prior to its removal from the carpet.

3. Buffering

A mist-like cleaning product is deposited onto the carpet and a larger buffer/bonnet scrubs in the mixture in a rotation motion. This buffer machine also sucks up all the dirt and grime and can later be cleaned and replaced.

4. Solvent Extraction

This processes involves a d-limonene based cleaner which is pre-sprayed on the carpet. The product is given a 5–10 minutes to settle in the carpet and is then extracted using an acid rinse solution through a hot water extraction machine. Triple dry strokes are then performed to ensure a low dry time which can take anywhere from 1-4 hours.
